Grace on Tour
Concept posters for a five-date German tour by Jeff Buckley, 16 to 24 February. One treatment is a sepia stage portrait with hand-lettered dates in orange. The other is a black-and-white collage: a cut-out figure on paisley with faint text running behind.

The problem
Make a run of dates feel like a night worth going to rather than a list, using one photograph and very little else.
The idea
Keep the colour to one tone. The sepia versions use a single orange for the name and the dates, set in hand-drawn lettering so the type reads as part of the photograph. The black-and-white version goes the other way: a cut-out figure, a paisley throw and a texture of overlapping text, with the name set in a tall serif turned on its side.
Visual system
Colour
- Stage black#161212

- Lettering white#FEFEFE
Type
Hand-drawn display lettering in orange for the sepia posters, and a high-contrast serif for the black-and-white one.
Graphic system
A small skull mark sits in the corner of the sepia posters like a signature, and a layer of faint text runs behind each image.
